Watching Brief exposes than excavates physical and mental boundaries, contexts and movement traces. Taking its name from the practice of discovery and protections enacted around archeological sites, this immersive and interactive work is activated by viewers. Proximity, contact, and speed become triggers for performative vignettes and digital artifacts.
This project has been supported by the Albert P. Weisman Award through Columbia College and developed, in part, through the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) residency program.
