Watching Brief exposes then excavates physical and mental boundaries, contexts and movement artifacts. Proximity, contact, and conversation become triggers for interactive vignettes. This work situates viewers as collective directors of experience; it marks Megan Young’s first full-length work considering choreography as a form of system design.
This project has been supported by the Albert P. Weisman Award through Columbia College and developed in part through the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) In the Works residency program.
