Rebecca Burcher

 

Rebecca Burcher is a choreographer, performer, educator, and arts administrator committed to embodiment in diverse formats and dance for all bodies. She has collaborated with MegLouise on the development and presentation of To Be Two’ for the Chicago DCASE Spin Off Series through a residency at Playhouse Square’s Idea Center.

Burcher holds a BA in dance and a BS in community programs for Americans with disabilities from Slippery Rock University. Her choreography has been presented by The Movement Project, where she has also been a guest artist.  She has worked with artists including: Amanda Tarr Dance Company, Kristin Hapke, Elizabeth Corbett, Adele Myers, Tara Madsen, Antonio Brown, Crystal Frasier, Terence Greene, Kendra Portier, Pearl Ann Porter, Nora Ambrosio, Ursula Payne, James Washington, Melissa Teodoro, Teena Custer, Luis Fernad Tuchron, Helanius Wilkins, and Marcia Custer. Administrative positions have included teaching artist in residence at Attack Theatre, assistant school coordinator at Dancing Wheels Company & School, and director of dance programming at Elijah’s Developmental Arts Academy.
