Past Due

Curation

This group exhibition considers reparations, debt, and currency while exploring transactional, moral, and communal accountability. Printed works, original texts, sculptural pieces, adornment, new media, and embodied action fill the gallery, foregrounding the need for reparations in the United States. Artists Monica Brown (Chicago, IL), Amber Ford (New Orleans, LA), Gregory King (Kent, OH), September Shy (Cleveland, OH), Haydee Souffrant (Chicago, IL), Antwoine Washington (Cleveland, OH), RA Washington (Cleveland, OH), and DeAllen Young (Cleveland, OH) have each devised their own methods of measure, collection, or offering with approaches ranging from popular culture to myth.
