Kirsten “Kix” Nicole is a visual artist, designer, and theatrical technician. She has worked with various contemporary dance and theater companies throughout Northeast Ohio and has collaborated on production and installation of MegLouise projects: Breakwall, Unsuccessful Wrestling Techniques, and Waist High & Elbow Deep. Her graphic drawings and sculpture have been presented at notable venues, Ingenuity Cleveland and Negative Space Gallery.
Kix is resident set designer and assistant technical director for Akron based and touring productions of the New World Performance Lab. Additionally, she supports production of visiting companies through the Center for Applied Theatre & Active Culture (CATAC.) Other notable roles include: technical director and production designer for Ma’Sue Productions/Center for Applied Drama & Autism (CADA); technical director for Magical Theatre Company; and carpenter/electrician for Neos Dance Theatre. Her training includes theater courses at University of Akron and apprenticeships under master designers, carpenters, and electricians.
